There’s an old saying that an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. The hard part is getting a being interested in prevention. Too many people do not/can not think into the, even near, future.

2. I disagree that Socrates was the smartest man of his time. There were lots of people during his time, though, none with a name that seem to matter in history. They could be categorized as “not known yet.” Also, most likely, Socrates was not the first person to favor of prevention over cures. Daoists were forming these things that went into categories of good and bad so a normal person living a balanced life would not be so sick all the time. Their ideas were spread throughout China. Today, Chinese people take this “balance” very seriously.
Very relevant in today’s scenario. The greatest medicine of all is to teach people how not to need it
